Broomfield is a Fellow if the Institute of Corrosion
The Institute of Corrosion is a learned society
that has been serving the corrosion science, technology
and engineering management and economic needs
of individuals, academe and industry since 1959
in the fight against corrosion, which costs the
UK around 4% of GNP per annum.
Key
to this fight are the establishment and promotion
of sound corrosion management practice, the advancement
of cost effective corrosion control measures,
and a sustained effort generally to raise corrosion
awareness at all stages of design, fabrication
and operation

Broomfield is a Fellow, Chartered Engineer and
EurIng.of the Institute of Materials.
The
Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3)
was officially recognised by the UK's Privy Council
on 26 June 2002. The new Institute, created from
the merger of The Institute of Materials and The
Institution of Mining and Metallurgy intends to
develop to be the leading international professional
body for the advancement of materials, minerals
and mining to governments, industry, academia,
the public and the professions.
